In the audiovisual work metavasi (transition), the recording of a carcass, stuck in a river in Epirus, coexists with a dialogue that develops between natural and otherworldly sounds. The element of water plays a leading role in this coexistence. According to folk tradition and its superstitions, water purifies, taking the spells away. At the same time, the river metaphorically functions as an element of transition, a passage where Charon the boatman transports mortals from the world of the living to that of the dead. Therefore, the river can be seen as a boundary or point of intersection, a point where communication and exchange of information between these two worlds is possible.
