Counter-observation.
A series of mixed media works resulting from the recycling of design sketches on paper.
Through their observation, in a search for visual stimuli and associations that will serve as a starting point for the creation of new, internal images at the expense of old ones, the previous sketches got overpainted using painting and collage as means of expression. The initial drawings are reworked and through intuition and critical faculty are gradually appropriated, as they are transformed from traces of an exercise in drawing and observation into an internal process that explores the relationship between form and imagination, interweaving two different approaches and time periods into a new whole.
These works came into conversation with the sounds of the experimental music group Diabolico Triolet, which will present their own counter-observation on a live recording they made within the context of an earlier collaboration with Arurkokk.
The musical group Diabolico Triolet consists of: George (violin), Sakis (double bass) & George (Trumpet).
The exhibition took place at the Two Thirds Project Space in Athens, from 24.09.2021 until 02.10.2021.
