“Νοσταλγία” is a mixed media visual artwork. “Νοσταλγία” is a Greek word meaning nostalgia. It depicts an anthropomorph figure that is something between a ghost and a scarecrow, a scary and a wounded entity. The intention was to reflect and visualize the feeling of nostalgia that someone gets when he/she is living to another place as a migrant. This new state o being, this new identity that he/she bears, is a double-sided coin. On one the one side there is the longing for the past, for the place left behind. While on the other side, there is the hope for the new possibilities that the new place promises. This artwork tries to depict this sentimental dichotomy.
It was exhibited at the: “Living Without Leaving” international art exhibition in Greece, Albania, North Macedonia & Belgium, as part of the Interreg programmes & the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian region. 2025.
