Three partridges were sitting and puffing tobacco

The work ¨Three partridges were sitting and puffing tobacco¨ is an experimental approach to Spiros Pereciadis’ Golpho. It is a collaboration between: Vikochico, Opera di Bestia and Arurkokk which, starting from the study of this idyllic drama, through its deconstruction and with different aesthetic references and directions, resulted in a deliberately heterogeneous audiovisual work presented in combination with an Artists’ Book with the same title.

The modular audiovisual work (HD video, duration 8’27”) consists of three parts: I. Vikochico: G.O.L.F.Oh (Game Of Low Fortune, Oh), 3D Animation, 3’35”.  II. Opera di Bestia: “You, bitter birds…”, sound work, 1’08”’, sound work, 1’08”’.  III. Arurkokk: “I deny the world”, experimental video, 3’26”.

For the artists’ book, which was presented at the same time, visual material (found images) from the press, cinema, theatre, Greek folk pastoral drawing and paintings with Arcadia as a theme was collected during the research process. This material is in conversation with new visual works that emerged from the deconstruction and post-production of the original material.
